Dee Parsons moved to Alaska in September of 1995 via the US Air Force. Since then her husband has retired from the military to stay in the beautiful state of Alaska that her family now calls home.   She and her family love all things outdoors.  They spend as much time as possible camping, hiking, fishing, playing with their dogs, Bubba and Jake, and riding 4 wheelers.
Mrs. Parsons began her PTA career at Fire Lake Elementary PTA in Eagle River serving as the Volunteer Coordinator on the 1996 board earning the Fire Lake Volunteer of the Year award that year.

Following the second year at Fire Lake Elementary, Mrs. Parsons’ family moved into base housing on Elemendorf AFB. She was the Vice President of Aurora PTA from 1998 –2001 during which time the Aurora Elementary received the Unit of the Year Award.

Dee continued her passion for working with PTA and being involved in Education Issues by joining the Alaska PTA Board of Managers as the Secretary in 2001.  She then served as the President Elect from 2003 - 2005 and is currently serving as President on the Alaska PTA Board of Managers.

Mrs. Parsons is married to Tom Parsons and has 2 children: Jonathan, a 7th graders at Mirror Lake Middle School and Courtney, a sophomore at Chugiak High School.  Dee works in the Education field as an Administrative Assistant at Ursa Minor Elementary School on Fort Richardson.
