Lynn Hohl has been an Alaska PTA member since the 1985 back-to-school open house at Denali Montessori in Anchorage, later serving as Vice President. After moving to Seward on the Kenai Peninsula in October 1990, she became a charter member of Seward PTSA (one PTSA for all three Seward schools: Seward Elementary, Middle and High) serving in various capacities. Lynn is currently completing her term as Vice President. Lynn has also served as the PTSA member of the Seward Schools Site-Based Council.
Lynn joined the Alaska PTA Board of Managers (BOM) as the Region V Vice President early in 2003 serving until April 2007. Since that time Lynn has remained on the BOM as the Region VII Vice President. Region VII represents the Alaska PTA VIP unit which has membership open to anyone who supports the Alaska PTA mission and objectives.
Lynn has also been involved with various other non-profit organizations, was secretary of the Fairview Community Council and was a City of Seward and Kenai Peninsula Borough Planning Commissioner for over seven years. In October 2006, she was elected to represents the Eastern Peninsula area on the Kenai Peninsula Borough Board of Education. In what seems a prior life, Lynn was a real estate appraiser from 1975 until the early 2000's when she choose not to renew her Alaska general real estate appraiser certification.
Three of Lynn's four children graduated from Seward High, each participating in school-year student exchanges plus sister-city exchanges. They have since graduated from college, and her eldest and his wife have recently made Lynn and her husband Roger grandparents. Their youngest child just returned from a school year in Germany and is a senior at Seward High. He was previously dual enrolled in the district homeschool program and Seward High.
