I’ve lived in Alaska since October of 1985. I’ve been married for 20 years to Bud Lacher. We have two boys, Chris who is 15 and is a sophomore at Service High and Eric who is 11 and is in the 6th grade at Abbott Loop Elementary. We have two dogs Aya and Daz.

I work part time as a Teacher Assistant at Abbott Loop Elementary in the kindergarten classrooms.  I have been there for 4 years now. I worked one year in the IN classroom with some pretty awesome kids.

I am a full time student at UAA. I am working towards a degree in Early Childhood Education.  I have a ways to go, but hope to teach Pre-K and K classes someday.
I love to read and always have a book with me. I bowl, not real well, but I have fun with it. This summer I am bowling on an Adult/Junior league. Unfortunately, I will not have time this fall to join a league. I am an avid walker and am working towards walking my first marathon.

I have been an active member of the PTA since 1998. During that time I have been the Treasurer at Abbott Loop, stepped in for the Secretary one year and this year I am the President. My favorite position held was as the Enrichment Chair. I was the coordinator for Community Schools at Abbott for several years and we worked closely with the PTA to make sure that classes being offered were fitting the needs of parents and students. Along with these I have chaired many events and will be co-chairing my 10th book fair this year.
I am the Secretary for State PTA and will be finishing my term this April.

Unfortunately, due to my college requirements I will be stepping off from all of my PTA positions for at least 2 years while I work on passing my PRAXIS I and II and beginning my internship. I will still be an involved PTA parent, only now from the sidelines.
