Suellen Appellof came from Northern New York to Alaska since in 1976 to spend the summer, like many others she chose to stay and be a part of the adventure that is Alaska. Suellen married Ed Appellof in 2001and now lives in Sutton, in the Mat Su Valley.  She has one son, Matthew who lives with his wife, Elizabeth in Boise, Idaho.

An independent business owner for the past 18 years, her self-employed status has allowed her the time to serve for the past 14 years as a volunteer and board member for PTA at all levels.

Local unit involvement includes secretarial and president positions, and at the council level includes the secretary position as well as the bylaws and budget committees.
At the state level, she has been the Webmaster, Bylaws Committee Chairperson, acted as Secretary, 1st Vice President for Leadership and was the 2003-2005 Alaska PTA President. Suellen also served National PTA as a member of the National Council of States and was a delegate to the National PTA Convention for several years.

Suellen continues to assist the Alaska PTA as Past President, Webmaster and Chair of the Alaska Public School Land Trust Committee. Her newest adventure is working towards a business degree, and last year obtained her Alaska Real Estate license.
